Purpose & Vision

“Jesus said ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belong to such as these.’” Matthew 19:14

Our goal in the Nursery is to support parents in their relationships with Christ and help to introduce Jesus and His love to all little ones in a safe and healthy environment.

My vision for the Nursery ministry is a simple one. It is my hope that the Nursery would be a place where the love of Jesus is poured out on our children by everyone around them. We desire that our children would start to understand the love of Jesus is limitless and that they would be comfortable expressing themselves as individuals. We strive to teach them the importance of community and how we should all be working together to bring glory and honor to our heavenly Father.

- Ellen

Parents can bring their children back to the Nursey beginning at 9:45 on Sunday mornings. We spend the first 30-45 minutes playing, reading, and singing; the toddlers may start working on a coloring project during this time as well. Around the time worship is ending we clean up the activities we have been working on and come together as a group and read a Bible story or two, while enjoying a small snack.

Depending on the size of our group each week we may then play a group game, finish up projects, or play quietly while we wait for parents to arrive for pick up around 11:15.

Q&A with Ellen

WHO is your favorite bible character? (can't say Jesus!)

Mary, I want to be a mother who says yes to God; without hesitation.

WHAT is the best advice anyone has ever given you?

Trust yourself as the mother of 'your' children. No two families are the same, do what works for you.

WHEN does your head hit the pillow?

With kids up before 7:00am, I try to be in bed by 10:00 each night.

WHERE is your favorite place to relax/recharge?

I love a good Hallmark movie! However predictable the ending may be!

WHY do you love living in the Pacific Northwest?

I love the beauty of Washington; there are not many places with views quite like ours!

HOW do you like your eggs?

Fried; in between an English muffin with a sausage patty and slice of cheese.

Introducing Jesus and His love to the littlest members of our church family.

How You Can Help

With a growing number of children we cannot be in prayer enough! We need to be in prayer for the children we are blessed with individually and as a whole.

We cannot know who they will grow up to be, or who they will grow up to reach, but we can be praying over them now!

If you’d like to be involved in our Nursery or would like more information, please stop by our nursery on a Sunday morning and talk with Ellen Schulz or another volunteer about any questions you have.

If you are ready to apply, please download and fill out the following application, returning it to Ellen afterwards.
